Florida-Georgia Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation in
Science, Engineering and Mathematics at Florida International
University
The FGLSAMP Scholarship program at FIU has several undergraduate
scholarships available every Fall and Spring. Scholarships in the
amount of $750 per term, Fall and Spring, totaling $1,500 per year.
You must be a fully admitted undergraduate student at FIU majoring
in: Electrical Eng, Civil Eng, Environmental Eng, Mechanical Eng,
Industrial Systems Eng, Biomendical Eng or Computer Engineering,
Computer Science, Chemistry, Math, Statistics, Physics, Biology or
Teacher's Education in any of these majors.
Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (proof of residency
required)
- Must have a G.P.A of 2.8 or higher
- Must be fully admitted first time undergraduate at FIU, and
registered for full time (12 credits minimum) each Fall and Spring
term
- Must apply and qualify for Financial Aid at FIU each year while in
program
- Must show an intended major on the FIU student records chosen from
the above mentioned

in the Center for Diversity in Engineering Office in EC 2620. Submit
the completed application with 2 letters of recommendation to:

The Steering Committee will evaluate each applicant after the FIU
drop/add deadline, and a notificatio will be mailed to the applicant
of acceptance or denial.
Important note: Student must first register, pay and attend
classes, the FGLSAMP Scholarship funds are received and distributed
towards the end of the term.
