Invited Lecture Series:
What can FIU Libraries do for you?

Speaker: Ms. Patricia Pereira-Pujol
When: Friday, October 2nd, 2009
Time: 2:00pm
Where: ECS 243

Abstract:
The FIU Libraries offer many services to the FIU community. However, many of faculty members and students in the various FIU units are not aware of these services. These services are particularly important to those programs that are research-intensive. The migration from print media to electronic media and the university's budget constraint has force the FIU Libraries to change how some services are currently delivered to the faculty and students.

In this presentation I will describe the resources and services offered to faculty and students by the FIU libraries, especially those services most relevant to SCIS. I will first give a brief overview of the FIU libraries, and then demonstrate how to use the services available through the FIU Libraries web interface. The format of the presentation will be interactive, and I encourage those in attendance to ask as many questions as time allows.
