Welcome to the School of Computing and Information Sciences (CIS) at Florida International University. The School of Computing and Information Sciences Computing Facilites are located on the second and third floor, west FIU-CIS Support wing, of the Engineering and Computing and Information Sciences building. The facility consists of over 300 workstations, more than 50 servers, 1.5+ TB of storage, high speed routers and switches, over 500 ethernet connections and wireless connections which are used by students, faculty and staff. The majority of these machines are dispersed throughout the various research and open laboratories located on the second floor. These systems are connected to the campus backbone and which provide our interface to the internet and other WANs throughout the State of Florida and beyond.

The John C. Comfort Lab is an open lab for CIS undergraduates taking courses which require the use of specialized software and hardware equipment. The School of Computing and Information Sciences also maintains a series of special hardware laboratories in support of our undergraduate Computer Science and Information Technology programs.
