The School of Computing Sciences held its first Annual picnic on Saturday, April 10th, 2004 at Markham Park in Sunrise, Fl. Many of the school's faculty, staff, students and their friends and family were in attendance. We'd like to thank everyone who made this a wonderful event. We wish to see you all, along with new faces next year.

First and foremost, we'd like to send a special thank you to our Administrative Assistant, Alicia Bullard, along with the office staff, Martha Soledad, Maureen Braham, Haydee Caneda, Maria Monteagudo and Aileen Rosado, for their hard work and countless hours they spent to raise money and organize this great event. We extend our appreciation to you all who made this event possible.

The picnic began at 11am. Shortly after, the grill was fired up and the party had just begun. Around noon, everyone sat to their choice of hotdogs, hamburgers, potato salad, coleslaw and beans. For desert, there were cupcakes and cotton candy. The day wouldn't be complete without refreshments of water, many types of soda and a keg of ice cold beer.

After lunch, there were football and volleyball games, a tug-of-war between faculty and students, a magic show preformed by Dr. G. Smith's son and games for the kids, such as musical chairs and breaking balloons. There was also a limbo contest in which our very own Aileen Rosado was victorious and Prof. Dennis Yeh who came in second. There was also dancing and an IQ test for the kids and adults. The picnic wrapped up around 3pm.

Photo albums from the picnic are available from: Dr. Bill Kraynek, Steven Luis and Aileen Rosado, by Chengyong Yang and by Erliang Zeng.
