How to print to a specific network printer from your Linux-based workstation:

Please note that major Linux applications (OpenOffice and FireFox among them) will display a full list of CS network printers when the user navigates to their print menu. If the target printer isn't in the print menu of the program being used, please follow these instructions:

• Open the document you want to print
• Go to the print menu, and choose the "Print To File" option
• Save the PostScript (.ps) file to a local directory
• Launch your favorite Terminal and navigate in the folder where you saved it
• Type the following command: 'lpr -P printername file.ps'
• Don't forget to replace 'printername' and 'file.ps' with the name of the Printer you want to print to and the name of the PostScript file you had previously saved.

The document is now on its way to the printer you selected!

How to add a network printer to your Windows-based workstation:

• Click on "Start" -> "Run"
• In the text box, type: '\\ferret' and press Enter
• A login window may ask you to enter your domain credentials
• Right-click on the icon of the printer you wish to install
• Select "Connect" from the menu that appears
• Click on "Yes" if a dialog window appears asking you to confirm the install

The printer is now installed on your workstation! Please note that if you were working with an application while you were installing the printer, you may have to save your document and restart the application to see the new printer in the printer menu.
