General Meetings Information

General meetings take place about once a month. For specific dates and times check out the announcements and meetings section on the home page. Meetings are also advertised through the ACM-Announce membership list or through events@cis.fiu.edu.

Meetings consist of two phases:

The first involves an overall discussion of current events and informative sessions about the ACM chapter and the technology industry: what kind activities, presentations do members want to participate in, what experts in the field would they like to have visit us, the state of the technology industry as a whole, job opportunities. This is an open format because the most important part of our organization are our members.

The second phase consists of a presentation by a guest speaker who is a leading expert in a computer-related field or an computer science/IT related activity which involves the active participation of members.
