RESEARCH
I am interested in simulation and modeling of computer systems and
computer networks. My research areas include parallel and distributed
discrete-event simulation, and high-performance simulation and
modeling of large-scale computer networks. Here is
a brief summary of my research.
Here is a list of my publications.
And, here are my research projects.
Previous Endeavors:
- During my Ph.D. years, I designed and implemented the Dartmouth Scalable
Simulation Framework (DaSSF), a parallel discrete-event simulation
kernel (its subsequent variant is called iSSF). Among many
applications, the simulator has been used by researchers to model
global computer networks, large-scale wireless ad hoc networks, sensor
networks, cellular networks, grid computing infrastructure, and
large-scale parallel architectures.
- I also assumed the leading role in the development of DaSSFNet, which is a
simulator designed for global-scale network simulations, and SWAN, which is a simulator
for large-scale wireless mobile ad hoc network simulations.
- When I was a post-doc, I collaborated with researchers at the
University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign working on the MOSES (Modeling Of SEcurity and
Systems) project.
