Jun 29, 2020: CS-STEAM Summer Camp At FIU at PG6 – Tech Station

For rising 3rd – 8th graders interested in computer programming, 3D modeling, robotics, animations, and mathematics/logic games.

Our daily schedule includes two blocks of activities both in the morning and afternoon. Once per week, during the second block, participants will visit an engineering lab on campus. STEAM activities will vary daily, and will include the following:

Spatial Visualization – A basic skill necessary for all engineering fields

3D Printing – Dimensioning, scaling and design

Math/Logic Games – Interplay of logic and mathematics when solving puzzles

Encryption – Pixelation and use of the binary system to encrypt images

Block Coding – Scratch, a block-based programming language and online community

Python Coding– General-purpose and intuitive programming language

Robotics – Building, wiring and programming robots using Robot-C language

Virtual Reality – Full immersion with surround sound experience at the I-CAVE lab
