Biography

Dr. Chen Chen completed his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering at the University of California San Diego, where he was affiliated with The Design Lab and the Qualcomm Institute (CalIT2). His research focuses on Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), eXtended Reality (XR), and Accessibility, aiming to augment content interaction experiences across a wide variety of interfaces and users. His research has been published in multiple top-tier HCI, XR, Accessibility, and Mobile Computing conferences and journals. Dr. Chen's work has received several prestigious honors, including the Distinguished Paper Award from ACM IMWUT/UbiComp, the Best Paper Honorable Mention Award from ACM CHI, the Best Poster Award at ACM SenSys, and finalist recognition for both the Adobe Research Fellowship and Qualcomm Innovation Fellowship. Some of Dr. Chen's research has resulted in patents and has been highlighted at public events such as Adobe MAX. He is a former researcher at Microsoft Research, Adobe Research, and Carnegie Mellon University. Dr. Chen holds an M.S. degree from Carnegie Mellon University and a B.Eng. degree from the University of Nottingham.
