Student Organizations
This is a student chapter of the national organization, Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) here at Florida International University (FIU).
ASI is a joint collaboration between advisors and students in an effort to advise, engage, and lead STEM students to succeed academically. ASI has created a program for tutoring and mentoring students, helping them with the challenges of Computer Science and Information Technology courses.
Break Through Tech Miami offers a supportive community for women (cis and trans) and nonbinary individuals who are first- and second-year students at FIU interested in learning about and succeeding in the tech world beyond the university walls. Come join us as we work at the intersection of academia and industry to propel more women and underrepresented communities into technology and computing degrees and careers.
STARS provides high quality, fully online, peer tutoring for most CS, IT, and CY courses within the majors. Students are encouraged to use our services to gain a better understanding of their course material.
Women in Computer Science is an organization for women, by women. Any FIU student in the Knight Foundation School of Computing and Information Sciences, or simply with some interest in any of the various topics in computing is welcome to join us!
Women in CyberSecurity (WiCyS) is an organization dedicated to bringing together women in cybersecurity from academia, research, and industry to share knowledge, experience, networking, and mentoring. Any FIU student interested in CyberSecurity can join the Student Chapter.
UPE is the international honor society for students in the fields of Computer Science and Information Technology. FIU’s award-winning chapter of UPE, comprised of a large and active community of students, recognizes academic excellence and hosts a wide array of activities for students.
