Researchers Unleash Tools for AI and Deep Learning Applications

Distinguished University Professor Dr. S.S. Iyengar and a renowned team of scientists have authored a new book on artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) that will unleash the power of deep learning networks and applications. The book provides a tutorial with wide-ranging conceptual and programming tools that underlie deep learning applications. This is the first book of its kind to introduce this modern toolset and associated deep learning techniques for the design, development, and deployment of deep learning networks.

In the book’s Forward, Turing Award Laureate, Professor John Hopcroft stated, “Unlike current books on the subject that either cover the theory and mathematical underpinnings of deep learning, or focus exclusively on programming centric concepts, tools and languages, this book addresses and bridges both aspects. It seamlessly connects theoretical methods with pertinent technologies and toolsets in a manner that makes the material suitable for students, educators, and practitioners.”

In addition to Dr. Iyengar, the book’s authors include, Dr. Jayakumar Singaram, and Dr. Azad M. Madni. Dr. Jayakumar Singaram is a veteran in semiconductor electronics and a strategic consultant to a variety of companies. His passion is to drive deployment-ready solutions using AI in the Internet of Things.  Dr. Azad Madni is the founder and CEO of Intelligent Systems Technology, Inc. a high-tech company specializing in modeling and simulation technology for complex systems engineering, education, and training. Dr. Madni is the Executive Director of the University of Southern California’s Systems Architecting and Engineering (SAE) Program and Professor of Astronautical Engineering at USC’s Viterbi School of Engineering.

The book titled, Deep Learning Networks: Design, Development and Deployment is published by Springer and will be on shelves December 4, 2023.
