David Ulloa, a recent FIU computer science graduate, turned his passion for technology into a fast-track career, landing a role as a software engineer at Google before even finishing his degree. From building his first computer in middle school to interning at Microsoft and Google, Ulloa embraced every opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects, including large language models and AI-powered developer tools.

At FIU, Ulloa rose to president of INIT FIU, the university’s largest tech club, where he helped organize ShellHacks—Florida’s biggest hackathon—connecting thousands of students with top tech companies. Now at Google, he’s working on integrating Gemini AI into Google Cloud, while preparing to return to FIU this fall as a mentor and recruiter, eager to help the next generation of Panthers follow in his footsteps.
