Biography

Ms. Erica Levy joined FIU in 2018 and has 14 years of higher education experience. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Science Interdisciplinary: Specialization in Health and Human Services and Minor in Sociology from the University at Buffalo, a Masters of Science Degree in Counseling Education from Hofstra University, and an Advanced Masters of Education in Higher and Postsecondary Education from Teachers College, Columbia University. In addition, she holds Appreciative Advising Certification through Florida Atlantic University.

Prior to working at FIU, Ms. Levy was an Assistant Dean at Metropolitan College of New York. Ms. Levy’s primary areas of interest include student retention, the student transition from HS to college, and the impact of student academic preparation on their educational experiences. Her Masters Thesis focused on Adolescent Women’s Pursuit of STEM Subjects Dominated by Men and Pathways to Postsecondary STEM Education Programs.
