2.1 Windows 95/98/ME

• Run regedit
• Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\ServicesVxD\VNETSUP
• Change the data value for the EnablePlainTextPassword value to 1
• Reboot

2.2 Windows NT/2000

• Log in as administrator
• Run regedit
• Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/system/currentcontrolset/services/rdr/paramaters/
• Right-cliclk in the right pane and choose new -> DWORD
• EnablePlainTextPassword for the name
• Double-click on the new dword and set the value to 1
• Reboot
